I have a direct that works in Moscow, I in Texas USA. We have weekly 1:1 by phone. For weeks now I have been quietly haunted by the podcast's recommendation that I use a webcam during these conversations.

And it's for none of the reasons given in the podcast. I don't care about what I'm wearing, cause I'm dressed, nor the state of my home office. I really simply don't want to be on video. Just a personal hang up. Some people hate spiders; I keep a post it note over my web cam. I wouldn't do it with my grandparents at Christmas, and I don't want to do it at work.
So when I heard that Verizon was requiring it, I sulked a bit since it seemed that I was going to have to come to terms with the web cam at some point.

Has anyone read this book? What were your thoughts? I personally identified with a number of his ideas.
Of course, I would assert that this webcam is an autonomy crusher for me, but otherwise I thought there was some interesting insights.
